Dentures

Dental Cleaning Guide

What are dentures?

Dentures are custom-built artificial teeth constructed out of hard resin and developed by our dentists to comfortably fit in your mouth and simulate a full set of natural teeth.

Types of dentures

Full Dentures
Full dentures are used to simulate entire set of teeth – when no healthy teeth remain in either upper or lower jaw. If needed, we may remove decayed tooth to make room for a full denture.

Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are used when you still have some healthy natural teeth in either upper or lower jaw. A partial denture helps restore your natural smile and improve speech deficits that can arise from missing teeth.

What does the procedure look like?

At the initial consultation and examination, we will assess the integrity of your gum pad and teeth to determine whether partial or complete dentures would suit you best. An impression of your gum is then taken and sent to a dental lab to make the denture mold. You will revisit the office to have your denture fitted (testing for bites, ensuring comfort). When you’re happy with your new smile, you’re done! Smile, eat and speak with confidence once again.

How long will dentures last?

Full dentures last between 5-10 years while partial dentures have a maximum longevity of 15 years. Treat your denture as your natural teeth and maintain the recommended oral hygiene routine.
